Investigating rape, slave labour and murder in South Korea’s House of Horror
South Korea’s House of Horrors (Al Jazeera 101 East) examines the systemic abuse committed at Brothers Home, a government-funded welfare facility in Busan that operated from 1976 to 1987. Under the authoritarian government of Chun Doo-hwan, thousands were forcibly detained and subjected to violence and forced labor. The film follows survivors seeking accountability, including efforts to question former leaders now living in Australia.
Moktan provided on-location production services, filming key interviews and investigative sequences that supported the documentary’s international reporting.
