CNN & Samsung Collaboration | Samsung Smart Factory

In 2024 CNN’s creative department collaborated with Samsung to create a short documentary covering the tech giant’s Smart Factory program that is helping struggling small and medium sized industrial operations in Korea to not only survive but also thrive.

Moktan was hired for the pre-production and production stages of this important project. The filming took place in a remote part of South Korea and, at Samsung’s request, was shot entirely on their Galaxy S24 Ultra. Our team handled the difficult tasks of:

• Organising a shoot in rural Korea where production infrastructure is non-existent

• Alll translating and interpreting between CNN’s English speaking team and the local Korean-speaking talent

• Transport and accommodation for visiting producers and local crew

• Shooting the film and best utilising the Galaxy S24 Ultra to capture the story in a way that integrates with professional post workflows
