In October 2025, the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) hosted the second NK Insider Forum in Seoul as part of the World Convention on North Korean Human Rights. The forum brought together North Korean defectors and activists, centering on firsthand testimonies presented through a focused, story-driven program. Designed to amplify voices that are often unheard, the event combined keynote talks, discussions, and performance into a single, cohesive platform for advocacy and awareness.
Moktan Productions returned as the production partner for the forum, marking our third collaboration with HRF. Building on our experience from previous projects in the series, our team was entrusted with delivering full-scale event coverage while maintaining a sensitive and unobtrusive approach to filming.
Full-Scale Event Production Across Multiple Locations
The production was designed to run across two simultaneous filming environments within the venue. The main ballroom served as the central stage for the forum, hosting multiple keynote talks, a group discussion session, and a live musical performance by Sunye. At the same time, a separate room was set up for individual interviews with speakers, allowing for more personal, in-depth storytelling.
Managing two active shooting locations required careful coordination between crews to ensure consistency in visual quality and audio capture. Our team deployed a multi-camera setup in the main hall to comprehensively document each segment of the program, while a dedicated interview unit handled speaker conversations in a controlled environment.
In addition to primary coverage, we captured extensive B-roll throughout the venue and surrounding areas. These visual elements played an important role in conveying the atmosphere of the forum, the engagement of the audience, and the broader context of the event in Seoul.
Post-Production and Content Delivery
Following the event, Moktan handled the full post-production process, delivering a wide range of content tailored for both archival and digital distribution.
The final deliverables included:
Full-length recordings of three keynote talks
The complete group discussion session
Individual interview videos with speakers
Social media shorts created for each keynote talk,. the group discussion, and the musical performance
At the center of the project was a highlight recap film, produced as the primary deliverable. This piece brought together the most impactful moments of the forum into a concise, story-driven narrative designed for broader audiences.
To support ongoing outreach, all major content—including talks, discussions, and interviews—was delivered with professional translations and subtitles, ensuring accessibility for international viewers.
