Filming the Future of Energy:

Drone Cinematography

and On-Location Production for OCI

03/30/2026

In early 2026, Moktan Productions provided on-location filming and production support in South Korea for a project developed in collaboration with Bloomberg Media, focusing on OCI Holdings and its role in powering the next generation of digital infrastructure.

As artificial intelligence continues to expand, so does the need for data centers and the energy required to sustain them. This project explored how OCI Holdings is responding to that demand through large-scale solar and energy storage solutions, positioning renewable energy as a critical component of the digital economy.

Moktan’s role in the project centered on principal photography, supporting the international production team during the Korea-based shoot. This included filming executive interviews, including an interview with Chairman Woohyun Lee, and capturing a range of supporting visuals designed to reflect both the company’s operations and the broader energy landscape connected to the story.

A key part of the production approach was the use of cinematic visuals, combining ground-level footage with professional drone cinematography. Aerial shots were used to capture scale, infrastructure, and environment, adding visual depth and context that complemented the interview-driven narrative. Drone operation was carefully planned and executed in accordance with local regulations, ensuring both safety and visual quality.

The project required close coordination with an overseas team, with workflows designed to support real-time collaboration during filming. Moktan worked as the local production partner, helping facilitate the shoot on the ground while aligning with the creative and technical requirements of an international media production.

As a film production company in Korea, Moktan Productions regularly supports global clients with video production, documentary filming, corporate video shoots, and commercial content. Our work spans on-location filming, interview production, and aerial cinematography, providing international teams with the local expertise needed to execute high-quality productions in Korea.
